Life just keeps going. It throws curve balls fast and hard. This is why at TAYLZ we encourage a Train to Live philosophy. We train for life. We don't shoehorn clients into a one-size-fits-most plan. Every plan is individualized for each client's needs, goals, and lifestyle.
In 2018 I had my second back surgery. My lower back injuries go back to my childhood. Car accidents, football, and a lack of awareness propelled me into adulthood with my spine out of alignment with my hips and pelvis. Then I decided to join the Army as a paratrooper and after my service days, run marathons, compounding my injuries. The second back surgery gave me back some mobility and took a lot of scar tissue off the nerves. It gave me a chance to train again.
Sometimes, literally in tears, I worked to strengthen my core and lower back. While there are things I still don't do because the risk/reward just isn't there, I am able to do things now that I couldn't have done before. This past weekend I visited family in Utah. We spent four hours in a Razor climbing rocky mountain paths and enjoying the beautiful summer weather. The constant jostling of the off road paths up the mountain passes would have had me laid out for weeks just a few short years ago. I credit the hours spent in the gym and at home grinding for a better quality of life for being able to not just endure such a ride but to enjoy it and walk away with nothing more than a smile and some great photos.
At TAYLZ we walk the walk. We live by our convictions. We TRAIN TO LIVE.
